Home for the holidays season 2 debuts starring series newcomers, spice adams and la donna tittle

Arguments over politics. Long-stewing resentment over borrowed money. Inequitable division of “kitchen duty.” Generational beef over who’s grandmom’s favorite. Seasonal family gatherings are all too often a horror show, but it is literally the case in “Home for the Holidays,” an award-winning fictional audio series from Chicago-born sisters, Kozi Kyles and Kyra Kyles, co-owners of Myth Lab Entertainment.

Just in time for grilling season, Myth Lab Entertainment announces Season 2 of the horror-comedy anthology, with “Invitation to the Cookout” starring former Chicago Bear and San Francisco 49er-turned-entertainer and comic Anthony “Spice” Adams. The episode also stars radio, theater, and film icon La Donna Tittle who portrayed fan favorite “Miss Ethel Davis” in the Paramount+ hit drama, “The Chi.”

Adams brings his ubiquitous digital hilarity to the lead role of “Marcus,” a charming, but self-absorbed man who is frozen out of his immediate family’s get-togethers due to his habit of showing up empty-handed, but leaving with ten to-go plates. Tittle sizzles as “Aunt Sugar,” a relative from Marcus’s “daddy’s side” who invites him to the titular event. Marcus discovers there is no such thing as a free lunch in an episode that blends the humor of “Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins” with the horrors of “Midsommar.”

Season 1’s winter holiday-focused launch featured an array of global voice talent, including kittie KaBoom, aka Gen X and Millennial icon “Cita” of BET’s future-forward “Cita’s World” and James Smillie, of the “Highlander” TV series, “Vox Machinae” video game and BBC fame. Weaving the tales for Season 1 and 2 together is T.J. Pryor-Wells, reprising her role as the mysterious and ominous matriarch “Greatmomma.”

Co-written, directed and executive produced by the Kyles Sisters, Season 1 earned American Writing and NYC Podcast awards for best writing, fiction and humor & satire. Reminisce on the winter holiday havoc with Season 1’s send-up of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve: “The Dressing,” “All of the Lights,” and “The Burning Bowl.”

“Invitation to the Cookout” is available now on all podcast platforms, with Episodes 2 and 3 set for Labor Day and Halloween release. Your holidays are numbered.
